The graduation ceremonies held in Limpopo on 3rd and 4th July 2026 marked a significant milestone in the province's commitment to strengthening teachers' digital skills and expanding opportunities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

1,800 graduates celebrated the successful completion of various digital skills programmes, including:

· Coding and Robotics: 610 graduates

· Artificial Intelligence: 86 graduates

· Data Analysis: 110 graduates

· ICT: 994 graduates

The ceremonies brought together graduates, government officials, educators, and project partners to celebrate the dedication and perseverance of participants who successfully balanced their professional responsibilities with their studies. These graduates are now equipped with valuable skills that will contribute to South Africa's growing digital economy and strengthen digital teaching and learning within schools.

Behind the scenes, Wits Commercial Enterprise played a pivotal role in coordinating and managing the successful delivery of the graduation programme. The team provided comprehensive project management and operational support, including event planning, logistics, stakeholder coordination, communications, and overall programme administration to ensure that each ceremony was executed seamlessly.

The Wits Commercial Enterprise team on the ground included Thapedi Maketa (Project Manager), Bontle, Cynthia, Sipho, Lindo, and Lesego, who worked alongside the ICT project team led by Prof. Reuben Dlamini to ensure the smooth and successful delivery of the graduation events.

The ceremonies were attended by the MEC for Education in Limpopo, Ms Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, who congratulated all 1,800 graduates for their remarkable achievement. She commended the graduates for their commitment to professional development and their ability to balance their studies with both their professional and personal responsibilities.

The success of the Limpopo graduation ceremonies demonstrates the impact of strong collaboration between government, higher education institutions, and implementation partners. Through the collective efforts of Wits Enterprise, the Wits School of Education, the Limpopo Department of Education, and the ETDP SETA, the project has not only celebrated academic achievement but has also empowered educators with future-ready skills in ICT, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Coding, and Robotics.

These programmes continue to strengthen South Africa's education system by preparing educators to embrace digital transformation, inspire innovation in the classroom, and equip learners with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
